Dust Trails:

By wolves? That would be a horrible way to go.

JStarr06, 18 Jan 2008 05:42 am

I am very intrigued by the story so far. The dark tones of the comic give it an ambiance much like a horror film. It grabs your attention. Can't wait for more.

Remmy, 18 Jan 2008 12:51 pm

Duuude.

That would have sucked.

Rizu, 18 Jan 2008 02:00 pm

Ohh, I reaaaalllyyy love the second panel here. The shadow of the bars, the angle of his head and the expression... that's so cool. ;_;

It must be really hard to draw someone without a head as a landmark. XD

Miser Bellatrix, 18 Jan 2008 02:17 pm

@Frozen: Yes, yes it would be.

@JSTAR06: Why thankya. Now that you mentioned it, the grays do make it look like an old horror film. I hadn't realized that before. >_>;

@Remmy: Being gnawed on while still alive.... Painful.

@Rizu: Thanks. Yeah the second panel is my fave too. Josh just looks so cute there.
And not that hard, actually. I just didn't have a very good drawing week, if you're implying what I think you are. XD;

...is the zombie having a smoke?
Because if he is...he's amazing to me.
And Remmy? TOTALLY agree with you.

Miser Bellatrix, 19 Jan 2008 01:13 am

Sort of. The cig isn't lit--He obviously can't smoke, so he pretends to.

Faery Goddyss, 20 Jan 2008 06:05 pm

...whats the point in that?
I figured he was like...sticking the cigarette directly into his lungs or something...since he doesnt have his neck either.

Miser Bellatrix, 20 Jan 2008 11:37 pm

He couldn't smoke the thing by sticking it into his lungs, I believe. So he just pretends to smoke.
--Although this contradicts popular believe, not everything needs to have a point.

blood_witness, 22 Jan 2008 09:27 pm

The panel with the cigarette reminded me of something I read in a drawing guide a long time ago: having the character hold the cigarette at the tips of the fingers elongates them and makes them more feminine, whereas a curved grip at the base of the fingers will make them seem more masculine.

I don't know enough about the character at this point to say that a masculinely-gripped cigarette would look better, and I doubt it even matters. I just thought I'd let you know for the sake of bringing up vaguely related trivia.

Anyway, it's a great plot, and the harshness of the lines--lack of clean cut ones?--does loads for the whole dark mood. I think it's a brilliant effect.

Miser Bellatrix, 23 Jan 2008 12:19 am

I agree with that actually, but only to a certain point since it sounds a bit like a stereotype. --The reference I used was that of a man's hand holding a cigarette. ;3

Truth be told there isn't much of a plot. This comic is pretty pointless, so I hope no one is expecting some astounding masterpiece that'll make sense to them. But I'm glad you like it anyway, and thanks for commenting.

blood_witness, 23 Jan 2008 10:00 pm

The premise, then. There's something likable in there somewhere...

Miser Bellatrix, 24 Jan 2008 12:01 am

Hurr, well I hope so. :3

my guess is that the headless one used to be a smoker than got his head chewed off and now is either suffering from withdrawls or wishing to look cool and intimidating. (i wonder how he gets around without runing in to things if thats possible for him.)
